Τον περασμένο χρόνο, έχοντας σκάψει σε βάθος 100 μέτρων, Ρώσοι επιστήμονες ανακάλυψαν χάλκινα σύρματα 1.000 ετών και κατέληξαν στο συμπέρασμα ότι οι πρόγονοί τους, ήδη πριν από 1.000 έτη, διέθεταν τηλεφωνικό δίκτυο.

Υστερα από μερικές εβδομάδες, Αμερικανοί επιστήμονες έσκαψαν σε βάθος 200 μέτρων και η εφημερίδα ΝΥ Times ανέφερε: «Αμερικανοί επιστήμονες ανακάλυψαν ίχνη οπτικών ινών και έχουν καταλήξει στο συμπέρασμα ότι οι πρόγονοί τους διέθεταν, 1.000 έτη πριν από τους Ρώσους, ψηφιακό τηλεφωνικό σύστημα προηγμένης υψηλής τεχνολογίας».

Μία εβδομάδα αργότερα, οι ελληνικές εφημερίδες ανέφεραν τα ακόλουθα: «Εχοντας σκάψει σε βάθος 800 μέτρων, οι Ελληνες επιστήμονες δεν βρήκαν απολύτως τίποτα. Κατέληξαν στο συμπέρασμα ότι πριν από 5.000 έτη, οι πρόγονοί τους ήδη χρησιμοποιούσαν ασύρματη τεχνολογία».

προφυλακτικά

Ενας μπαμπάς μπαίνει στο φαρμακείο μαζί με τον 13χρονο γιο του. Ο γιος βλέπει τα κουτάκια των προφυλακτικών και ρωτάει: «Τι είναι αυτά, μπαμπά;» Κι ο μπαμπάς, απαντάει ειλικρινά:«Αυτά, γιόκα μου, τα λένε προφυλακτικά. Οι άντρες τα χρησιμοποιούν για να κάνουν ασφαλές σεξ». «Ααα.. κατάλαβα!», απαντάει το αγόρι. «Μας έδειξαν και στο σχολείο, στο μάθημα της σεξουαλικής αγωγής».

Μετά κοιτάει ένα πακέτο των τριών και ρωτάει: «Γιατί έχει μόνο τρία αυτό το πακέτο, μπαμπάκα;». «Αυτό, αγόρι μου, είναι για τα παιδιά του Γυμνασίου. Ενα για την Παρασκευή, ένα για το Σάββατο και ένα για την Κυριακή».

Τότε ο μικρός κοιτάει το άλλο πακέτο που έχει μέσα έξι. «Και αυτό, μπαμπά; Γιατί έχει έξι μέσα;». «Αυτό είναι για τους φοιτητές: δύο για την Παρασκευή, δύο για το Σάββατο και δύο για την Κυριακή».

Τότε ο μικρός βλέπει εκείνο το πακέτο που έχει μέσα δώδεκα και γεμάτος απορία ρωτάει: «Και αυτό, μπαμπά, που έχει μέσα δώδεκα, για ποιους είναι;». Και ο μπαμπάς αναστενάζει και του εξηγεί: «Αυτά, παιδί μου, είναι για παντρεμένους. Ενα τον Ιανουάριο, ένα τον Φεβρουάριο, ένα για τον Μάρτιο...».

Estate Planning

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business.

When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a wife with which to share his fortune. One evening at an investment meeting, he spotted a very beautiful woman and decided he wanted her as his wife.

"I may look like just an ordinary man," he said to her, "but in a few years, my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars."

Impressed, the woman obtained his business card and three weeks later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much better at estate planning than men.

My Trip to India

Departure November 26.

It was a bit hectic. I flew Geneva, Paris, Doha, Delhi. After one day of traveling, queuing, waiting, I eventually arrived at Delhi Airport in a very bad mood, tired.

My travel agent hadn't bother to try and make it easier. She found a group leaving the dates I wanted, booked me on the group, told me we would be 20 people, high class people, excellent organization.

As I landed and saw the mess at the airport, the people I would have to share those 12 days with, etc... I had to burst out, and the first person I found to share my misery was out guide. Poor guy. I was so rude, and now I am so ashamed.

In the end it turned out we were only 10, which was better and easier to live with. Even though they were all French, they turned out not as terrible as I expected. But that I discovered along the way. Because that first evening, I had arranged to meet a client from the Bank, so I let them settle into the hotel and go visit a temple close to our hotel.
I had a small rest and went to meet that client who was kind enough to come to the hotel to meet me instead of having me having to go through the hassle of the Delhi rush hour traffic. We had a pleasant evening, a rather good diner in an international hotel nearby and I eventually went to sleep. A tough first day, but worth the rest of the trip.
